Education Means to Create
This book will explain how vital it is for mankind to get back to the root of authentic education- understand that learning is really about creating, thinking and living out your purpose on this earth. While education is in part about literacy and numbers and concepts, it is hugely about being able to produce and solve 'problems' and interact with others. Whether our children are creating a poem or a story, creating with their voices, creating a portrait, or inventing a product, they are exploring the true meaning of education. Their minds and their hands hold their value as learners.
Entertainment Overload
Certainly entertainment is for the enjoyment of life. We have our favorite movies and shows to watch. We have fun video games out there. We have social media platforms where we are able to connect and 'enter' the lives of people we know and celebrities we wish to know. Entertainment, in and of itself, is not the problem. The overload of entertainment is the issue, especially for our youth. Inspired by what she saw and heard concerning classrooms across America, Darrian decided to talk about how entertainment got in 'the way' of education for our students and children. When we are loaded with things that do the 'thinking' for us, we are put in position to not think and create for ourselves.
Bonus Chapter: God in Education
In this chapter, Darrian explores the 5Cs Concept that highlights the major ways God is involved in education (not the system). If you ever want to talk about the restoration of anything, you have to visit its origin. Authentic education began with God, and it can only continue with Him in mind.
